PoP HW Club Final Sum

This year, I am proud to announce that the Pencils of Promise Harvard-Westlake Club I founded at the start of this year has raised upwards of $600 for the cause. I could not have done it without the encouragement of my mother and the help of my club members/dean sponsor. Here is a copy of the letter I am sending to Pencils of Promise, summarizing the work we did this year and the gratifying end result:

Hi, my name is Jarett Malouf, and I am a 15-year-old sophomore at Harvard-Westlake School in Studio City, California. I have been involved with your organization since I was in the sixth grade (I was featured on the PoPstar of the Week Page in 2012), holding fundraisers and spreading word of your noble work. This year, I founded a PoP chapter at Harvard-Westlake, under the supervision of a former representative from your organization, Hannah Denitz, as well as my school dean, Mr. Celso Cardenás. Throughout the course of this year, my club (PoP Harvard-Westlake) has held meetings to discuss the best ways to spread information about PoP and raise money for the organization at the same time. We held two fundraisers this year on the quad of the school, where members of the club sold Krispy Kreme donuts to students and informed them of the cause which they were supporting. Our grand total amassed this year, that I hereby donate to Pencils of Promise, is $671.50!

I thank you for all you have done to improve education around the world. Your work is valiant and does not go unnoticed nor unappreciated. I look forward to continuing my fundraising efforts for PoP in the years to come.
